Don't worry, it's only been a hundred.

Today I learned that I'm not going to be able to shave for a while. One of the lifejackets was too big but there weren't any left and during one of my races it tore up my left armpit. And then my legs are too sunburnt to even touch.

That's ok, you live in Oregon so it won't seem that unusual.

Today I learned that my dad and I have a very odd connection: we share our pain. For example, when his knee hurts, mine hurts in the SAME EXACT PLACE.

Today I learned my residence was burgled. Electrical equipment, including my computer, must have been too tempting. Damn, that makes 2 complete rebuilds from scratch in 3 years [last one was lost to bushfire.]

Background: Father has been in poor health and I've been staying with my parents since Christmas - and coming under some pressure to move in permanently. Last week I surrendered to the inevitable and decided to vacate my own residence. Imagine my surprise when I found I had less to pack than expected.

Today I learned that one can try the same stunt as Claude François did and survive...

I used the "url" feature just as I do usually. What went wrong?

Edit: corrected thanks to gollum's post below

Today I learned quite a few things...

1. I learned that we were very lucky last night that the 2 tornados that touched down outside of town didn't make it into town.

2. I learned the names of the 4 boys who didn't make it through the tornado that went through the scout ranch 30 miles from here.

3. I learned that half my hometown in eastern Iowa is underwater with no electricity indefinatly.

Sometimes I wish I wouldn't learn so much.

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry I just heard about the whole tornado thing like 5 minutes ago (I don't have time for news anymore)

Today I learned that when I made copies of my passport for my coach, I hadn't signed my passport so now I have to go back to Kinkos to get some more copies.
I also learned that even though I would say that I have a nice signature, when signing official/important documents it looks like crap.

I have since written a proposal to get my funding back. Today I found out that I got it back. Yeah! It's back to England for me next month.

Today (this week really) I learned that "fun fur" (or eyelash yarn) isn't fun for me when knitting with it.

I don't have a scanner.

Today I learned to never put my hand on something before looking. I set my wrist on a fence so that I could take a picture while I was hiking today and heard a crunch. I look down at my wrist and hundreds of tiny spiders are crawling out from under my hand. It was disgusting, I screamed and now I believe that I have worse aracnaphobia than ever before. I shiver just thinking about it.
