Cant remember the name of this! [Solved]

Post by Linzearl »

I read a book a while ago and i cant remember who wrote it and what its called. Its about a woman in the present day who suffers from tinnitus, one day shes in her car and has an attack and ends up being thrust into the past/another dimension. Thats all i can mostly remember but theres also something about being able to paint gives magical powers!

This is causing an itch in my brain - but I can't nail it down. Any more clues? How long ago, any cover details, etc ?

Im trying 2 remember all i can but its a while since i read it. Im sure the front cover was the main character painting on of her patterns - a stained glass window thiny. Meant to be that the symmetry and colours of the patterns she paints creates some kind of magic. Its set in medieval times - riding horses, open sewers etc and when she gets transported into this world it cures her tinnitus (ringing in ears)

OK I think I know it - I haven't read it and I still can't remember the author/title clearly. About 500-600 pages long?

I think it won a couple of book awrds the year it came out - me goes to check BKM's awards thread.

Nope I'm wrong! I thought it was The Doomsday Book by Connie Willis, but reading the summary on Amazon shows me it's not :(

linzearl,

do you think theat UncleBeard is right?

If so - he might win what we call a Sherlock point -

check out this thread:

A winner of a Sherlock IS at the sole disrection of the poser of the question - That's YOU! so if you think he is right - & you think he deserves it - go right ahead and award it!
