Because I think that it's too hard to research what has already been asked. I sure there will be repeats and that the answers deserve Sherlocks — but a vote of 1 (very inadequate) player doesn't count for much.

The problem with this game (for me anyway) is that I read mostly non-popular books so most wouldn't possibly get the answer to a first line from a book in my house.

My daughter happened to have F451 for school and since I had read it, I thought it was worth posting.

I agree with Sue, it is hard to not re-post unless we get obscure.

I have used a euphemism for the second word, but the original text was definitely not PC.
Also I erased the names of people and places

Well, since I offered a new one, I did implicitely call yours cold, indeed; my first question was just rhetorical. But your question can still bring a sherlock, according to the usual rules.
And if it is answered before mine, and the winner wants to put a new quote, I don't ming her/him doing so, and calling my question cold.
