Yick. Twice now, I've ended up with a huge spider crawling across my windshield after leaving my parents house. The first time, the damn thing actually dropped onto my hand and I had an accident. The second time, I saw it before it saw me, pulled over to the rightmost lane, and smooshed it.

Today I learned that it doesn't matter what my parents cook, it doesn't even matter if I help make it, I *will* get killer heartburn every single time I eat at my parents' house.

Just a guess, but your heartburn may be the result of the speed at which you eat when at your parents', not the food. Next time try consciously slowing your pace and see what happens. You may get teased for being a slowpoke, but if you feel better, it'll be worth it.

Today I learned how to play poker, and rinsed all my mates of their chips. :)

Today I learned what a relief it is to drop calculus and how saddening it is to know the hundreds of dollars you had to spend on the class are not going to return...

Actually, I'm already teased for being the slowpoke LOL I think part of the problem is the quantity (my mother puts about 2x as much food on a plate as I normally do at home, and she gets upset if you don't eat it all LOL) and possibly also the stress factor. While I'm getting along better with my parents now, I have NO happy memories of meals at my parents house when I was growing up.

Today I learned that it isnt a good idea to show a three year old how toast is made. (I woke up this morning to a burning smell - she'd stuck like 5 pieces of bread in)

Today I learned that E-Books are a sweet way to look like you're doing work at work, when in reality you are reading.

My mate sent me a bunch of David Gemmell books via email yesterday as we were both bored and he was reading one. I recieved them at 11am and finished them at 1pm today read all during work hours and I went home early yesterday too. I absolutely smashed through the book! Hah.

I wish I could do that! We have so many idiots making errors right now that we can't even talk to one another, much less read the news or reference (the only things we're allowed anyways - because of idiots taking advantage of it, btw).

I need to shut up. I'm still irritated about last Friday. I don't even want to go to work tomorrow. I may end up walking out.

This week I learned to drive a pickup truck and..... I learned that I really don't like it. While my AVEO (a very small car) is being repaired, I was originally rented a Suzuki Swift (identical to my car)... but it was reserved out to someone else on Wednesday (when my car was meant to be ready but wasn't) so they traded me up to.... a Dodge Dakota 4x4. WTF?!? How is that in any way comparable to what I had?????

I hate this hulking behemoth, and I want my nice little car back! My legs aren't even really long enough to reach the pedals - Dakotas are odd in that the driver's seat almost has you sitting on the floor with the pedals really far ahead, so you're almost lying down, a very uncomfortable position in which to drive. Most pickups and SUVs I've seen are regular "sit up" type seats with the pedals about where your feet would be if you were sitting in a chair.

and oh god... it's a v8

Today I learned two things: that 'panais' tastes really good, or at least that I really like it. I never had it before, had no idea what it was and though I vaguely heard the name once or twice, I did not know what kind of stuff it was (i.e. a kind of "vertical root" like turnip, or of "horizontal one" like "salsifis" - the way it was cooked I could tell it had to be some kind of root, but not what kind)
I also learned for googling it that 'panais' is parsnip, and thus a vertical root. (the person who told me the name was french canadian, hence "panais" instead of parsnip)

Edit: learned a third thing: "salsifis" are salsify

Today I learned that I haven't been on IBDOF for a while and that for some reason I cannot register the word 'Humongous' when it is typed or written out even though I know what it is when spoken.

Today I learned my local cinema is closing down, so thatll be a good film to end on.

Heath Ledger is going to be remembered for that single role, in my opinion.

… my great grandfather's grandfather's first name (and added 15 names to our genealogy file)!

At my request, my sister found a letter our great uncle sent her in 1943 which contains family stories from the 1850s and sixties. It is a very fascinating letter, with lots of views of the daily life (and also the pioneering life) of those times. And it mentions names and relationships in that part of the family that I haven't been able to untangle before this.

I'm s-o-o-o excited!

Today I learned that my stolen electrical items have been recovered.

*Huge sigh of relief*

Was not looking forward to attempting to reconstruct my accumulated work (and music collection) on a new computer.

today I began to learn how to use solely my left hand/arm for everything. I also learned that being attacked by a dog for the 2nd time sucks. I learned that hospitals take just about 3 hours to do anything. And that after 6 hours there and looking gross from everything, that life decides to have more fun with you and force you to have to use the cash register line that that ... highly attractive guy that happens to be your age is working on. and the day just keeps getting better

life is stupid for me at the moment
