That was amazing Brad.
I laughed until I cried, good thing my office door was shut. That has to inspire someone to post (probably felonius).

Thank you. I'll be here all week. Try the salisbury yaksteak, and remember to tip your waiter.
I feel bad pearl harboring poor Felon like that ... my muse made me do it.
Minor continuity clarification: today is actually the 100th anniversary of "Bloom's Day" ... the "125" that appears in my post merely indicates that it's set 25 years in the future, and I conveniently overlooked the fact that James Lipton will probably be long dead by then.

Thanks, your Holiness.
Brad - right back atcha! Possible continuation later!
I laughed hard when I read that - there's enough material in there to keep this game going for years. Quite the brain fart if it's true that all came out during a single lunch hour!
My mom WAS actually at Berkeley for a while, for your information - but not as a professor, as a...well, that would be telling.
Watch whatchoo sayin' about my man Vishnu, and please pass the Yaksteak.

Colourless green ideas sleep furiously
Yeah, it was sort of a delayed retaliation for that "Gard" post of yours from a ways backQuite the brain fart if it's true that all came out during a single lunch hour!
The idea began percolating in my brain after I read about Bloom's Day in the morning, before leaving for work, and then it all sorta popped, like a swollen literary zit, when I brainstored for 30 mins or so during lunch hour ... after that, all it took was about 30 minutes of typing to finish and post the first draft. I returned a couple of times later that afternoon, during the occasional 10 minute break, to polish it and expand a few spots.
/me pauses to read Felon's counterattack
"Gophers ... Crouching Republican, Hidden Agenda ..." Blahahahah
Hehehehe ... I like it
At somepoint someone's gonna have to make a move on advancing the main ongoing plot (the nojshe caper) ... but I don't mind killing a little time in the meanwhile, taking literary potshots at each other.
We've already gored Kilty, Felon, and Myself (2x) ... I wonder who's up next for the literary dipping chair ?

I can not award a Sherlock for just one post. No matter how great they were. Consider yourselves 4 points ahead of the competition for this week’s award.

Ok posted ... slight change of pace again
I advanced the plot by offing the 2 teens from the bar, and fleshing out 'Joshua' a tad more.
The implication is that Suin Olef hasn't been idle since the disappearance of Elliot, and that more than 1 Earthbound organization is trying to find out just what the heck is going on.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Government Conspiracy theory literature (not that there's any truth to them that I'm aware of), the ficitonal "Blue Berets" are ostensibly a US military special-ops intelligence outfit tasked with investigating & cleaning up the mess related to possible alien visitations ... seizing evidence, and disappearing people prone to talking.
They predate the "Men in Black" movie by a good 30 years ... this is old school conspiracy stuff
Who knows - I may yet tie them in with the MIB boys, just to draw in the youngsters

More minor tweaking.
Besides, it was only fitting that ... ahem ... curiosity in the 'cat' eventually killed them.
C'mon people - you can't be bored or running out of ideas already !
Hey, don't blame me - they died a long time ago, when video games became more popular among teens than reading.the Hardy boys dead![]()

Since no points were awarded last week, due to a tie, perhaps we should make this week double or nothing ?
The lure of 2 points might help dispell the lull that we seem to have slipped into.

Well, at least we have quality over quantity.
How about a bonus point challenge from the Judge, use other IBDoF thread items in your narrative:
1) Answer the Modesitt quote, Kilt's 20 questions or other game
2) Utilize a word and then its Anagram
3) Bring into play an Extreme Cuisine
4) Make use of your favorite SF/F quote
I consider any other bonus point proposals.
Highlight your thread item to win and you can only win one bonus point per post.

I'm very firmly inclined against the idea of awarding bonus sherlock points.
I was only suggesting that we roll in the point that wasn't awarded last week. Please consider my "double or nothing" suggestion retracted ... I had no intention of inadvertantly re-opening an old can of worms.
My apologies.

I was not suggesting a bonus Sherlock point but a bonus Post point to help you win the weekly Sherlock point.
I thought that someone had mentioned this concept before. I’ll go check the thread.

I say again, Wattya Reckon?kiltannen wrote:I'm also partial to the concept of "Bonus" - these points to be awarded at the sole discretion of the current Judge Roy Bean.
