clong very good again. I'll score Xyrael's and give out the weekly Sherlock for last week . . . then score yours.

By the way - I think that considering your post and that the current WOTD is machine related you could work it in for a extra point.

Thanks Ghost. I did make a bit of an effort to work in deus ex machina, but couldn't come up with anything that really felt right. I also wondered if I would get partial credit for "dog in the machine."

Was it something I said? Is anyone going to step up to the plate? Remember, you can always dismiss my entry as delusional ravings if you want to go off in a new direction.

We're just getting to the point where it's hard to defer creating an actual plot. Plots scare me.

It's much more important to have fun than to worry about building a coherent plot. And just about the time you think the plot is starting to attain some slight level of coherence, someone is bound to take it off in some wildly different direction, anyway.

Kahrey gave me some good advice - just write something. It is usually possible to stick a label to it (especially this early in the year), and if you can't. It doesn't cost you that much in points - and anyway, who cares?

I'm still a bit busy, on a variety of fronts, but I'm hoping to get back into the regular VB saddle pretty soon. :)

So you can't reuse a genre later in the year? Drat.

Okay, may have a go at some point.

I do not take off points for re-using last year’s or any other previous years’ genre. You just an't repeat one of this years.

Am tempted to do Mary Sue as my Genre.

I think I can resist.

And if I succumbed, I'd feel dirty.

Sorry to have been AWOL on VB.

I still havent gotten back into the saddle yet, but if anyone needs a VB fix, I've been intermittantly posting some quasi-VBish star trek spoofs, starting around page 3 of the SciFi vs Romance thread in the IBDoF database discussion area.

It's a little thin on substance, but it's about all I have time for at the moment. ;)

Okay. I probably have no right to whine since it's been forever since I played VB, but...but...but...(BAWWWWWWWLLLLLL) (sniffle sniffle) (gulp) Where'd everybody go?

Come on, Mr. Clong. Show me what ya got.

Kvetch. University isn't that time-consuming.

Xyrael. This could change the entire nature of our relationship.

Ghost. I don't care if you're injured. Get with the program.

Laurie. Lay down the mallet and pick up Winston for a while.

Cho. Help readers to enter the realm of Cho.

Mr. Titanic. We haven't talked that much, but that's no excuse.

Aunflin. I'm out of nojshe man. This is serious.

Tollbaby. Chicken-shmicken. Be a condor.

Greabo Girl. I need more British wit.

Raptor Bob, Stefan Y. All the really cool people play this game. Don't miss out.

Death By Ants. You already have a genre in your username. Go man.

Spiphany. Let's just say I am EXTREMELY curious and leave it at that.

Evaine. Share the wealth while you wait for news of your manuscript.

Heather. Not sure if you're still around, but you'd better come play or I'll bury you in the volleyball beach sand.

Violet Blue and Blueworld. Let's see what all the blue's about.

SlowRain. Is it always slow? Give me some details.

Kilgore Trout. Again, a built-in genre. Start typing.

Kahrey. I heard you've got computer-access problems. Sneak out at night. We miss ya.

Kilt. It's time for the kilt to come off. Er - that is, the gloves.

Brad. I've never quite recovered from those 10 lousy points. Let's clear the air once and for all. Put on Conan music if you must.

If I missed anyone, I'm sorry - ECM's not in there because last I heard he was sailing the high seas. Wimp.

There ya go Fel - now the other lazt skivers can have a go.

Disclaimer: those numbers are made up, totally. And sadly, I couldn't find any real Clancy to compare with.

And felonius: Your post was an incredible pastiche of Dan Brown :worship: - one of the best so far.

Nice one! I want one of those guns for Christmas next year. And it does my heart good to know that math whizzes occasionally just make up numbers like everyone else.

Everything in my post was completely factual, of course. :butter:

If no one else has gone, I'll see what I can come up with to continue when I return home this evening.

Nice one clong - I'll try and manage a follow up later today (if no one else does) - I've got some ideas...
