Caroline, yoo hoo ???
I have been a bit on and off...
If Caroline does not post a new quote soon, (another week from now, let's say) would anyone like to post?

Sorry for the delay
I can't even find a good excuse : sheer procrastination.
Next quote, then :
Next quote, then :
Who's talking, and to who ?I was tired of being no one.
Re: LMB Quote Game
Just a random guess, but Passage, Crane talking to Dag about why he left after his farmer wife died?
Waiting patiently for the next Lois McMaster Bujold book.

Re: LMB Quote Game
Not a bad guess, but still not the right one. But I'll seize the occasion for a hint : like Crane, the speaker fell at least temporarily in the "bad guys" category (although nowhere near as low).

Re: LMB Quote Game
A little hint : the talker only appears in that book.
This week-end, I can access my books again, and I'll add a little to the quote if it is not found out yet.

Re: LMB Quote Game
Next guess with no research to back it up:
Book: Ethan of Athos
Speaker: Terrence C
To Whom: Ethan, and Quinn maybe?

Re: LMB Quote Game
Actually, it might be Bel Thorne in Diplomatic Immunity to Miles.
It's a pretty versatile quote, isn't it?

Re: LMB Quote Game
Nope, neither Bel, nor Ethan, nor Terrence, nor Quinn, nor Miles... but one of them was present, and the talker was from the same nation as another one of them ^^ Sorry for the delay in the hint, but I got a lot on my plate this week-end.
Re: LMB Quote Game
At least I'm guessing in the right set of books now.
Metzov to... hmm. I would have said Miles or Gregor. Doesn't really sound like Metzov, either. Alas, my copy of Young Miles is not where it's supposed to be, so I can't check.
I admit, I'm having a more difficult time coming up with alternate guesses. Maybe Tej's grandmother to Ivan, except she didn't talk to Ivan much.

Re: LMB Quote Game
On the other hand, my copy of Miles, Mystery and Mayhem is available, though I wouldn't have classified Terrence C as Cetagandan (created by the Cetagandans, yes. I didn't get the impression that the general going after him thought of him as anything but an experiment gone wrong).
Speaker: Yenaro
Book: Cetaganda, after the asterzine incident
Listeners: Miles and Ivan

You have it, of course :p I'll go update the sherlock thread, you have the next quote.
Re: LMB Quote Game
Next quote, in a similar vein to the last one:
Speaker?
Where does the speaker feel alone?
Book?"I'm tired of being alone."
