Lois McMaster Bujold is one of my favourite writers (most favourite ATM) because she manages superbly well to mix several genres into one single story: Science Fiction, Romance, Adventure, Thriller, Crime, Chick Lit, Ethics, Fantasy and more (not necessarily in that order).

I heartily recommend all her works for your reading pleasure.

One caveat: Do NOT reply to any of Voralfred's posts! Otherwise you'll be urged incessantly to participate in the LMBQG and the WotD threads.

Thanks! I looked into her books and since I'm not a very good SciFi reader, I opted for her fantasy books instead :) Just added Beguilement and The Curse of Chalion to my pile :)

Per advice from my publisher I have been working on creating a website for my fantasy mystery series and exploring the world of forums, social media, etc... I tried Facebook for a bit but since it has no rules, as such it wasn't all that wonderful. To be frank it reminded me of my substitute teacher days and not in a good way. I stumbled across this forum and was pleasantly surprised to find adult discussion rather than atomic war when a difference of opinion was posted. This is a good thing.

The reason for my joining is multifaceted, first I am seeking feedback as I am a published author and my genre is one replete with the potential for doing what has already been done. Also, as a fan of the fantasy genre overall I enjoy the discussion of like-minded individuals. I am currently working on my fourth volume in my current series, but as the stickie listed past abuses I will not go into anything possibly classified as advertising unless asked to do so. My profile lists the website.

As for the questions, not remembering the order or even most of them I have far more than five favorite authors. The top would be Green, Modisett, Butcher, Pratchett and Rothfess right now. For both reading and writing I like humor, action and well thought out descriptive language. An example would be how LE Modesitt goes into the description of woodworking in the first Recluse novel.

No. Sadly it doesn't, I'm afraid.
But you can still input it in the [User Control Panel].
