RebelShade -> Its okay even though dragonboats is the fastest growing sport in the world, alot of people have never heard of it. Its an amazing sport ... I could go on for hours about it but i'll just give a link
Misha -> Well I had a tough time freshman year and having a stubborn, condenscending, passive aggressive band teacher that I didn't get along with didn't help. He expected us to be proffessional level when most of the players in the band were in they're second or third year of playing. By then I had been playing flute for four years and was taught by an awesome but unfortunately inadequate teacher. Well I was tired of his attitude and him blaming the entire flute section's lack of talent on me (2nd chair).
Plus alot of it had to do with my dad who's a professional trombone player and pressured me tremendously with playing the flute and other instruments. By freshman year I could play something like 6 instruments. So between my father that I dont get along with and my band teacher, I was done.

Man, I reeeally have to check in more often!
I was never much a fan of school after third grade. I got bumped up a grade so did most of 4th during the summer, then went into 5th. My new classmates didn't like me because of that.
Seventh grade I started at a different secondary school, which improved my social life slightly, but it was academically boring compared to the previous one. I tuned out, eventually dropped out, and finally got my HSD at an evening school (there is no GED in Panama).
I just wish I had learned the really useful stuff in school, life skills it seems everyone expects you to be born knowing.
My list so far:

My list so far:
- how to budget and balance a checkbook
how to read a utility company bill
how to get utilities hooked up in the first place
how banking, credit and mortgage interest works
how municipalities work
writing a resumé
what to do at a job interview
how to write a letter to a business (registering a formal complaint, requesting information or just saying "good work")
how to fill out a tax form and take advantage of deductions

i guess i was lucky then. When I dropped out of band, they stuck me in 'Introduction to Business' which should really be 'get ready for being an adult class' cause they taught us how to do our taxes and balance our checkbooks and all that.

But...then they wouldn't have time to teach us Algebra! And Lord knows we use THAT almost everyday -_-. Seriously though, it wouldve help to know that stuff...except the resume. I was actually taught that in Middle school. But by the time I had to actually use that knowledge it had escaped mePanama Girl wrote:Man, I reeeally have to check in more often!
