4. Is the character organic as opposed to mechanical? ORGANIC
5. Fantasy? YES
6. Is she an elf? NO
7. Would she be considered an animal? NO, she is humanoid
8. Is she human level intelligence or above? YES
9. Was she born in this solar system? NO
10. Does she have distinctly nonhuman features of some kind? YES
11. Is she ugly so as to cause fear? NO, I would not call her ugly, though her appearance is striking
12. does question 9. even make sense - i.e. is the story/stories set in this universe (or a close copy) Probably not in our universe, though it's not totally clear. But she is definitely not from Earth.
13. Is she a mammal? Her race is mammilian. She no longer fits the definition.
14. Is she friendly to humans? YES, well, she has no predjudice for or against humans.
15. Is her society a technological one? NO
16. Is she the main character in her story? NO, she is not the protagonist, but she is a main character in some stories and a minor character in others
17. Is this character from a book that you have rated at iblist.com? She appears in at least one book I have rated.
18. Is the author of this character female? NO
19. Is this creature half human and half something else (i.e centaur)?
20. Does the creature have special/odd powers?

blueworld, would you like to perhaps offer a hint? Were Kvetch and I right in our process of elimination?

I don't know if there is a protocol on this, but it seems reasonable to think that if a mystery person/character has not been guessed after 20 questions the poser should get a Sherlock (although we don't want to encourage ridiculously obscure characters).

Big hint: her name is the title of a book, and she is mentioned in the iblist synopsis of said book.

I did want to do something hard, but I didn't expect it to be this hard. I figured there would be somebody out there who has read these books (and therefore, that I would find somebody to talk about them here with!). There are enough clues in the questions that have been asked to point somebody who has read the series to the correct character.

Since after 20 questions nobody could answer, I propose that Ghost gets 1/2 sherlock, and I get 1/2 sherlock for finding something nobody had read.

By the way, at this point I'd like to recommend both the Vlad Taltos series and the Khaavren Romances to everyone. The Vlad Taltos books can be hard to find, but they probably have more universal appeal then the Khaavren series, which began as a Dragearan version of The Three Musketeers. The narrator writes in a wordy style that is a pastiche of Dumas. The Taltos series begins as a cross between a gangster/crime story and a fantasy, and its more straightforward and humorous tone reflects this.

Well, I agree that truly obscure characters should be neither encouraged nor rewarded, but Brust is hardly obscure (although I haven't read any of his works). He is one of 177 authors at iblist with more than 40 votes, putting him in the top 3% of "most voted upon authors".

At ibdof it looks like Brad has rated several of his books, with one other person also rating Jhereg.

Who am I? - 20 Question Game

I am thinking of a person, real or fictional, living or dead.

The group can ask 20 questions to try to figure out the identity of the mystery person.

I will only answer yes or no (maybe a little more info ).

A guess will be sent ONLY via PM - and does not count towards the question count.

Only one guess per person per day allowed.

The first person to correctly guess the person is the winner, and gets one (1) Sherlock point.
