Kilt... you are an evil genius... Perhaps I should have been tracking Brad's changing names along the way (but you probably mix them up every once in a while to further confuse us)... wow, it's like job titles for Government workers :)

pffffftt! not bloody likely. i'm sure, being the hard core sci-fi fan-boi that he is, that kilt has set the next title change to kick in at 2001 posts.

OK, I'll admit that I am deep into a tall glass of Chardonnay (goes well with leftover turkey), but I would think that after reading this entire thread, and having the advantage, via another board which shall remain nameless if not blameless, of having at least a passing familiarity with alien rape ships, BBTL, and Stella Artois, I should have gleaned from this thread some minimal concept of how the ranking system works. Alas, I have not.

Oh well, maybe I have earned a complaint point somehow. And another for longest sentence.

By the way, a single 2-bbl carb. on any 455-cu engine was, is, and always will be an abomination.

These rankings above are attained through simple post count - what the levels are shall remain slightly a mystery - mostly because it is too much effort to dig them out

Thanks, Kilt. A case of "less than meets the eye." I couldn't figure out if points for reviews, author additions, etc. had been implemented.

Looks like it could be time to develop something for our chronic Overachiever Poster!

Suggestions anyone?

WEll, I'm a Forum Whore on my other forum....so that's an idea.

Perhaps something like "Needs to get some exercise" or "Apparently Bored."

I dunno.

Master Scholar kicks in at 1,000 posts. We should probably re-scale all the numbers, because capping out at 1,000 is a little too fast.

I also think "Professional Wordsmith" would sound a little more spiffy than just "Wordsmith".

I don't think so Brad

in actual fact I made quite an effort to ensure that all the changeover in rankings happenned at "odd" moments rather than following a stately progression.

Agreed - however - I am more keen to add rankings at the top end rather than space them out - I am hoping that we can come up with a few more ideas that work...

Agreed. Done.

Well gosh golly, I wonder what sort of suprise is waiting for people at the 1,337 post mark (pauses to check post count) 8)

Oh, and 2,001 should definitely be something Clarke-esqe, like "Monolith Dancer"

Sounds good - I suspect some thematic numbers within major fiction would be pretty cool.

Clarke-esqe 2,001 is an obvious one - what other numbers hit it big? [Or even hit it small...]

666 Is OBVIOUSLY one I should play around with!..

OK - so this is the face of the rankings map right now.

I am looking for more suggestions - I am considering how to incorporate LOTR into the ranking nomenclature.

Opinion:

Change Book Burner to Fireman... in the book it means the same thing, but to the ignorant it as a better connotation.

How about 1492 : Explorer of Wisdom.
