run the calculation anyway: I think you'll get a negative (possibly complex) number. see what it is.

it should be the time at which we had equal posts if our post rate was constant (I think). 2.8 days ago seems wrong! is it in months or years or what?

Ok, then, there's only two as of now that will ever pass Brad.

Personally, I don't care if I ever pass Brad. (Which I doubt anyone will actually do in reality--but you never know.)

I'm just having fun. (Me and Cyndi Lauper)

What's that supposed to mean? Oh, I don't really care either, I just like to mess around and joke about it.

Ha ha. I know. It's fun to play in the margins. I'm also a compulsive doodler. At every staff meeting, I'm the one with the illustrated agenda. Oh, my.

But it helps me to think.

Apparently we all need to do more sleeping.

Too bad sleeping is such a time consuming thing.

2 new custom ranks have been added:

(banned): for those who have been banned from the IBDoF for harassment or for repeatedly ignoring polite but firm warnings to respect the posting guidelines. Such accounts are no longer active.

(departed): for high-profile users who have recently, but amicably departed and sent explicit notice to a mod/admin of their intention to not return. These accounts are still open - the rank is just there to alert people who might otherwise be unaware of the departure.

So far, only 1 person (using multiple accounts) has been banned ... we're very proud of that low number. :)

Ooooh....I wonder who it is....

Does Kilty ever somehow (I don't know how) "sweep" through the DB and delete any users who haven't posted within a certain amount of time? Like after 1 or 2 years or so? While looking at the member list I noticed alot of people who had only posted like 1 time. Does that take up space in the DB?

Yes. although an insignificant amount compared to the forum posts, reviews, emails, books and authors.

Yeah, I wouldn't imagine it taking up too much room.

Generally, you don't want to delete anything that is referred to by other things. For example, old posts by someone who has left will could retain the Profile button to explain who someone was. And you don't want someone new signing up and re-using an old name and getting hit with the prior occupants associations.

Oh yeah, that's a very good point. See, I didn't think of that. :slap:
