The first and second quotes were indeed new, and though I immediately realised that XXX was Ivan, I did not guess the speaker.

The third quote rang a bell, but the fourth one was decisive : you already used the last two previously.

Admiral Desplains, sir !

But I don't deserve the point, it was in this thread already.

If you want, ask another one. If you prefer, I could ask the next one. Do tell me which option you prefer, but don't give a point for that one.
Ah, I should check my quotes better in future. I thought I'd not touched it.
I think I prefer that you take this one...

OK, so
“That would make sense,” said XXX, trying to follow this. “The older anyone gets, the more people are junior, and the fewer senior.” He frowned. “It must be strange to be oldest, to outlive all one’s generation. Yet some person in the world must be that one, at every moment. ...”
The three dots at the end are not in the text, they mean I have not given the end of the character's utterance.

Another quote by the same character
“Don’t touch my knife.”
A hint: the boldface letters are indeed in the text, because you can "hear" them.

Another hint : my character is not very talkative. One of his best efforts
“Up the vale, but I took a wrong turn in the dark.” He extended his empurpled foot. “I was wondering if I might beg some rags to wrap my feet. My boots are impossible.”

One gives you the shirt off his back, mused X, and the other offers to help you bury bodies. I do believe you have made some new friends, Y!

I first looked for it in "Tbe Borders of Infinity", Y being Miles and X one of the women there. Not there.

Finally I remembered the scene : X=Des, Y=Pen, in "Prisoner of Limnos", the one to bury bodies (that he was quite ready to supply himself, before Pen even did) is Bosha, the other "friend" I don't remember.

New quote.

Who says :
"XXX YYY, I'm (...). You're there in the same room . . . you stop him."
For 1/2 point each bonus :

Bonus #1 : Who is XXX (title) YYY (name) and who is "him"

Bonus #2 : Where -that being what (...) means- is the speaker, therefore unable to "stop him" ?

Adding to this:
We must be sure he gets a thorough grounding in the history of the mutagen disasters, so he'll understand where the violence is coming from. How deeply the agony and the fear are embedded, which drive the visible anxieties and, ah, as you XXX would see it, bad manners.
Same conversation, reversed speakers.

Another statement about the same person:
"You see," AAA explained in a hollow voice to the What-the-hell-are-they-talking-about? portion of the room, "some people have an evil twin. I am not so lucky. What I have is an idiot twin."

Sorry for being absent for so long, I had a lot of things on my mind.

The person talked about is Lord Mark Vorkosigan

The third quote is near the beginning of "Mirror Dance"
I did not identify the first conversation (which covers the two first quotes, I understand). So I leave the bonus for another player to find.

OK, I go along with your new variation.
"You two must have a lot in common. No wonder you get on so well."
Who is the character that "gets on so well" with the person spoken to ? Ohter quotes, if needed, will refer to that character.

Bonus : for 1/2 point name both the speaker and the person spoken to.

The character you have to find is the other one among “both”, in addition to the person talked to.

Bonus :For 1/2 point name both the speaker XXX and the person talked to.

Hint : the person talked to, that forms "you two" or "you both" with the character to find is not the same in the two quotes.

Apparently, the character to find has common points with several other characters, depending on whom one asks...

New hint : The speaker of one of the above quotes is the person spoken to in the other. I am not telling you in what order.

Harder bonus : For just 1/2 point in total, give the speaker and person spoken to in both quotes, knowing this means only three distinct characters, not four.

The "get on so well" line: Miles is saying this to General Metzov regarding Cavilo.
The second one: Elena is talking to Miles about Cavilo.
