Yyy shoved to his feet. "As soon as we've got 'em nailed down we'd better start boosting both ships for the rendezvous. The Ccc are bound to start looking for their missing Ddd pretty soon, even if they didn't get a distress signal out. Maybe Eee's people can take these guys off our hands, eh?" He nodded to Xxx, who gave a, "How should I know?" shrug. Yyy left on rubbery legs to find Zzz.
The first thing Yyy noticed upon entering the Aaa section was the empty socket in the wall for the Bbb.
I suspect it's in Falling Free, one of the books I'll read in english next week.... but really, I can't remember a place in the entire Vorkosigan Saga (It has to be a Vorkosigan book, ok) where such events happen. Ok, I have a lot of other things on my mind just now, but still... It kind of nags me.
It's not in Falling Free. I looked there first (at the spot where they hijacked the superjumper, and finished reading it all the way out to the end).
Ah ha! I just found it in Warrior's Apprentice, when Miles takes over Auson's ship. "Both ships" refers to Auson's ship and the RG freighter that Arde piloted.
No Cardassians were harmed in the finding of the quote.

The Oserans are bound to start looking for their missing ship pretty soon, even if they didn't get a distress signal out. Maybe Major Daum's people can take these guys off our hands, eh?"
He nodded to Daum, who gave a "How should I know?" shrug. Miles left on rubbery legs to find Engineering.
The first thing Miles noticed upon entering the engineering section was the empty socket in the wall for the first-aid kit.

Waiting patiently for the next Lois McMaster Bujold book.
CORRECT! Congratulations!
James
Speaking of Cardassians, I never liked the Bajorans, they always seemed to be cast as perpetual losers. Can't help thinking if they had payed as much attention to their military as they did their religion the Cardassians would have never walked over them like they did.

"I've seen him forgive screw-ups that put his guts on the bloody ceiling. Literally. You'll have to go some to top that. How many people died ?"
... answers Taura to Roic about Miles in Winterfair Gifts during their walk (If I remember correctly)
It's Roic, remembering that time Lord Vorkosigan came in with his in-laws-to-be to find the Butter Bug Disaster, with Roic covered with the slimy stuff ^^. Memorable scene.

Book, speaker, to whom is it said, and so on."Are you saying you want to give him an opportunity to screw up?"
Speaker: Miles
Person spoken to: Gregor
They are discussing general ... general ... the name escapes me. I mean the boss pro tem of Impsec, who is soi-disant temporarily filling in for Simon Ilyan.
Somewhere in there I can hear Gregor saying: "Let's see what happens."
But I can't find the book! Aargh!!!
General Lucas Haroche (since Caroline didn't ask for this information exactly, I think it's ok to offer it, right?)
We decided to name our youngest son Lucas. While he wasn't named for General Haroche, I can now remember the General's full name because of my son.

"I know a place you can buy good Aaa, in Bbb." Ccc said with nicely calculated diffidence. "Better than standard issue stuff. You can get a real bargain there sometimes, if you know what to look for."
Ddd stopped. ...
Aaa? blades
Bbb? Vorbarr Sultana
Ccc? Miles
Ddd? Kostolitz
book? The Warrior's Apprentice

"I would not call it a mistake, for if it had succeeded, it would have simplified my present life immeasurably. I would call it a false move, because of its peculiar consequences. I note merely, I am not playing against you."
"Whom do you play against, then?" Aaa pushed off the wall and began to pace in a half circle around the Bbb. "At first I thought this was all about Ccc politics."
"Only indirectly."
Book?
Who is Aaa?
Who is Aaa speaking to?
What/what is Bbb?
What/where is Ccc?

Ok, I don't have the book, so this is a guess, and Bbb and Ccc are eluding me:
Book: Hallowed Hunt
Who is Aaa: Ingrey
Who is Aaa speaking to: Horseriver
In what context: Horseriver set a geas of some sort for Ingrey to kill Ijada and potentially Ingrey at the same time to get them both out of the picture. It would have served to keep Ijada from going to trial, and prevent damning evidence from being presented about the Prince's death.
I thought this conversation took place in a dining room, probably at one of Horseriver's residences, so Bbb could be a table of some sort. I honestly don't remember what the adjective in front of politics might have been, but presume it's either about the High King's family, or the country itself. I can't even remember if this is officially Chalion, or Darthacan politics, or one of the other countries. It's been a busy while since I read it last.

I'd suspected BBB might have been Horseriver, but decided it couldn't be when you asked who Ingrey was speaking to as well as who/what BBB was. Sneaky!
Anyway, next quote:
Whose failure?
Anyway, next quote:
Book?Failure, at the sticking point. Failure wasn't treason, even if the rubble it left in its wake was every bit as dire.
Whose failure?

Not too hard ? Ok ^^. Suits me, I don't have most of my books right now, so just by memory :
PS : I may be off the internet for a couple of days : if the quote is answered obviously right, please feel free to go on without waiting for my confirmation, I'll give the sherlock later.
Complete the beginning of the sentence, add speaker, circumstances and book."[...]No fit to receive so golden a sacrifice"

"Clay, boy." Count Vorkosigan's voice was hoarse but clear. "Only clay. Not fit to receive so golden a sacrifice." His voice cracked.Caroline Tredez wrote:Complete the beginning of the sentence, add speaker, circumstances and book."[...]No fit to receive so golden a sacrifice"
Speaker: Aral
Book: Warrior's Apprentice
Circumstances: Because Miles was discharged from the military academy, he couldn't serve Barrayar. So he just wanted to make his dad proud of him. The sacrifice is Miles' life which he wants to lay at his father's feet.
