Finally finished with C&P! It would have been done a LONG time ago if teachers didn't regulate class books

Ahh, Dostoyevsky. After Crime and Punishment, I might read The Brothers Karamzov. Would you recommend it?
IMO BK is the greatest novel ever written. Not that I've read them all.

Hello to fellow bookworms and professional wordsmiths.

I am delighted to discover this forum, but am a bit in awe of so many who keep such careful track of what they read. I am a bookaholic, consuming on average a book every few days. The walls of my house are lined with floor to ceiling shelves with books, vinyl, CDs and other oddities including three-dimensional puzzles.

In the last month or so I have been exploring, among others, the fascinating worlds created by L.E. Modesitt Jr, Robert Silverberg, David Farland, David B. Coe, Terry Pratchett, Elmore Leonard and both Thomas and Robert Harris. Oh yes, and two intense dark bloodthirsty rides with Steven Eriksen and Robert Jordan. And in case you think I am male writer centred, in defence I must add two of the best, Loius McMaster Bujold (Curse of Chalybion) and Robyn Hobb's assassin, tawny man and live ship connected series. Breathtaking writers both of them.

And for the Steinbeck fans - I notice quite a few out there - don't forget the delightful, but short, reign of Pippin. And does anybody read John Mortimer's Rumpole short stories? Love to chat about those.

Happy reading and warm regards

Khehla

All the books I can remember from the start of the year:

1. The Hornblower Series by C.S. Forester, I can't recall where I was up to on new years so they needn't count. (fantastic series by the way).
2. Lireal, The Old Kingdom Series by Garth Nix
3. Abhorsen, The Old Kingdom Series by Garth Nix
4. The fall, Castle and Aenir; The Seventh Tower Series by Garth Nix (I thought that was all to the story when I picked up the omnibus but it seems not).
5. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien (re-read)
6. The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien (Current book and also re-read)

Not many but I enjoyed them all. (i'm a sucker for a good series by the way :D )
