GAME: X by X words

Post by the grim squeaker »

K, I was trying to think of a new game when i saw a sticker on a bathroom door yesterday that said "4U2P" and it got me thinking.

The aim is to make a sentence out of X amount of letters four times to make a joke/poem/sentence etc.
Not going on points, but "invisible bonus point(s)"
if you can get words that run down/ diagonally as well. Eh?

Im not sure if the words should escalate (Eg. 1x1x1x1, 2x2x2x2) or not thought, so ill kick off with

B A L D
D O G S
L O O K
P I N K

(4x4+1 for BOOK)

I dont see what, if any, words you have on other slices (other than horizontal left to right) ... in which case, no score, correct ?

That's what I wasn't sure about.

I had a different selection for my SPAM one that would've, then, given points -- but I didn't like the sound as well ..

Is there any score at all for this game? I thought it was just for fun.

The above poem is only funny (if at all  ) on this forum and directly after a post by the previous poster.

Question: Are there supposed to be as many rows as columns (ie 4x4, 5x5) .. or did I misunderstand the "rules" .. or have we abandoned that entirely and we're just playin'?

I dont get it ... what's the point of just making sentences out of words of the same length (score 0) if you're not trying to create patterns along the slices (score >0) ?

Why create a game thread if nobody follows the premise ?

Maybe we should change "game", in the thread-title, to "diversion"?

I'm with Brad. However, "Don't Lick Blue Milk" makes me laugh each time I read it. :)
