Adorable, Sue.
And RM, LOVE you as Harry Potter. HEh heh heh.
And at my school we DO have the mechanical babies....EXTREMELY ANNOYING.
We have the normal simulated babies, some fetal alcohol simulated babies and some simulated CRACK babies.
The CRACK babies would be funny if they weren't so sad.
They look like big bugs and they shriek and shake like mad....constantly.

I am a poor, wayfaring stranger
Wandering through this world of woe
But there's no sickness, no fear or danger
In that bright land
To which I go

To which I go

I thought there was something familiar about your face, when I first saw this picture; it's taken me all day to recognize that you look as disgruntled as my youngest daughter did when (she was 7) her grandmother forced a haircut (and a BAD cut) on her just before her school picture was being taken.
I cherish that picture, because she had a very good reason to be angry. I don't think your uniform is so awful, but then I don't have to wear it. If you don't like it, then you too have a good reason for wearing a negative look.

This is just about placing a face. In as much as you can see my head in it. Just.
The room I'm sticking my head is my bedroom. Willis Jackson is a lovely place, in a lovely area, but walking up all those stairs is not my idea of fun.

The photo was taken on the day I arrived in London, but I kind of forgot I had it.... There are some photos of me and my actual room, but they are fairly poor.

Do first-year students get the top-floor rooms, or is it just a random assignment? (They got the unwanted-by-upperclassmen rooms at my college.)

That is really disconcerting, ECM...
And in answer to laurie's question: Imperial only give accommodation to freshers (first years), everyone has to go and find some whereelse to live - usually waay out in the suburbs. So, first years occupy every damn room in the house - I actually came out of the assignment process very well (I got my first choice for type - A single self-catered not-ensuite room) - everyone else I've met seems to be on about their fifth choice of room type
