yes - your other quote, but on to more important matters:
identify X (getting the book is not good enough)
X was a small and dapper solicitor. Had a narrow face, dreamy eyes, kind that would have been hidden behind spectacles centuries earlier

Ok, it's now the 19th, no guesses, nothing. So... I'm guessing no one has a clue on this one, even though it sounds oh so familiar. Perhaps a hint will begin to melt the frost from this quote?

It's not recluce or spellsong. the way the quote is delivered gives a clue to the 'thinker' - the style is very much their own

I think this is the lawyer/solicitor that gerswin interacts with as corso on the planet where he ends up dropping a bomb in the city. I think it was Paul...essentially he tells him, it is your fault and that an ethic of complacency is no more excusable than an ethic of greed.

I see what you mean about the way Geshwin talks, but no, you are on the wrong track entirely.
I'll give it another day then post a new quote.

I'm feeling Archform: Beauty, Lt. Chiang.
On the paperback, page 161, Lt. Chiang speaking of Hans Kugeler.

Ok, I ran across this one a few days ago. Identify the book, speaker, and listener.

Sorry I didn't ask this before but, would I put the sherlock up or does one person keep track of all of it?

Ok, this quote is getting cold. here's a hint... This is from a book published in this current century, year 2000 to current. That should narrow it down a little bit. Maybe. If you need the publishing dates for the books see this link.

Am I correct in assuming that this quote is not from a Reluce book

Sooo... does that mean that I get to post another quote, or does it go on to someone else? Please forgive my ignorance.

Go ahead.
In the 60’s, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

Ok, this is kind of a two for one, because it comes from the same dook as the previous quote, so if you can get this one, maybe it will help you get the other one.
"You don't like it when people are deceptive, but you use the absolute truth just as deceptively as some people use lies."
Again, the book, speaker, and listener. Good luck folks.

Come
On guys, I know these quotes are not
that hard! My first ever quote I put on this list was guessed in a matter of hours, so I did try to make these a bit harder, but not overly so. Again, they are from the same book, and indeed even have a cross connection in characters. Now, if I give any more hints it simply won't be fair, 'cause then it'll be too easy! Start guessing!

Do the double books count for this quote (i.e. Empire & Ecolitan )?

any work by LEM, excluding short stories is permissable (nobody ever agreed to my short story suggestion, but I think it should hold)

Norse raider, these two quotes come from the exact same book, no tricks, no "two books in one", nothing. Exact same book. It's not a short story, it is a common publication. Now, crack open some books and start searching! I can't have any more fun on this forum untill
someone else posts a quote!
