Brainteaser - hopefully will stretch SOMEONES grey matter...

does anybody know the book where Heinlein wrote about "real" magic?

[Hint: was published at least once with a companion novella]

Oooh, that's a toughie.

I think you might be referring to the novella "Magic, Inc.", which can be found in "The Fantasies of Robert Heinlein" - which I believe has been published as both a single cover, and as a boxed set.

However, I'll only give myself about a 65% chance of being right on this, because I have not read the book in question.

That's my best guess ATM

/me attempts to win a 2nd "IBDOF Sherlock Holmes Award" :D

DOH!

Brad wins a second Sherlock award!

He manages to win that award WITHOUT EVEN HAVING READ THE BOOK IN QUESTION!!!

Kilt shakes head and mumbles to himself about the futility of trying to outsmart somebody so deep in addiction as Brad obviously is - I mean come on - he even has made certain he has NO COMPUTER in the house - let alone a NET connection JUST so that he can make certain his /*other*/ addictions get equal time!!!

/*other*/ including [but not limited to]:-
culineria
reading
social activities

evidence:-
Brad_H on Heinlein wrote: one of the recurring motifs in his various characters was a love of learning - there was no such thing as wasting time learning a new skill:

(paraphrase) "a good man knows how to sail a boat, ride a horse, change a daiper, pilot a plane, fight with a sword, sew his own jeans, navigate by the stars, hunt & cook dinner, tie a bandage ..."

I took that to heart shortly after leaving college, and I've been exploring many hobbies ever since :)
