oh crap, sorry kvetch, you're right, it was gil galad.

I guess he gets the quote?

If not, I'll re-guess for the sake of the rules.

The Parafaith War - The Eco-Tech Dialogues
In the 60’s, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

Gil Galad gets it (post one anyway if more than 24 hours elapse.)

apart from the willingness to take punishment, are there any other cold quotes?

Yes, MK got the Parafaith War part, but the book was the Eco-Tech Dialogues. Soo... I guess Gil gets to post next? Or MK?

One must strike before it is expected...or where such an attack is not expected, and it cannot hurt if one strikes where a loss may not be regretted totally by the ruler of a neighbouring land.

I think actually it's from the Corean Chronicles series...sorry I have to run off to the office but if that is "warmer" maybe it will get things moving in the right direction.

"But there was only one kind of human. Sometimes that kind was man, sometimes woman, sometimes child, but for all the names, they were the same. Some were taller, and some were shorter, or thicker or thinner, and some spoke Anglas, and some Nippin, and some Mandi. But they were the same. That is, they all thought in the old-fashioned manner, and their thoughts stayed inside there heads."

Good Luck! :D
(not reading the rest of the posts...forgive me) I love that writing. That's the kind of writing I love. I've forgotten Adiamante. I did like it quite a bit. I need to read that again apparently. I should ask this on the question topic list, but where does Adiamante fall in the timeline with the scifi series(the other scifi's like Parafaith War, etc)? I think there's potential there for some sequels :D
