The actual rule is that if you guess correctly, and then post a quote, you cannot answer the quote posted by the person who guesses your quote until it is "cold" which was defined as five days.

yech that doesn't read very well.

For instance,
Day 1- MK posts a quote
Day 2- Torybear guesses correctly
Day 2- Torybear posts a quote
Day 3- MK cannot answer, Sneaky bunny guesses correctly
Day 3- Sneaky bunny posts a quote
Day 4- MK guesses correctly
Day 4-Mk posts a quote
Day 5- Torybear cannot answer.

Obviously the rules can change but technically that is how they work.

Torybear, that is much better explanation.

Sorry, I realized I don't have any good ones ... only easy ones. So here goes.

"Probably be my epitaph - 'He thought it was a good idea at the time.'"

My only saving grace is that it sounds like somebody else so maybe that will confuse peeps.

Can I suggest that quotes from short stories should be forbidden, as they are imossible to find, and it is unfair to post a quote most people have no hope of getting.

Also, quotes should not give away much in the way of plot (e.g. no spoilers)

Told you it was easy. I was hoping someone would think it was Dorrin.

Good job.

first speaker, second speaker, book, why the second speaker is a good trader
"maybe that's why you're a good trader."

But it is an excellent quote, one of my favorites.

Scion of Cyador, Lorn to Ryalth, his depth of knowledge of the merchanter trading system and ability to see a product as a commodity before it is one... I think. All my books are at home and I'm stuck at work. :(

New quote

Post by RecluceMage »

OK, this may be a bit obscure...

"Without a deity the universe is uncertain. But, once the deistic faiths have been analyzed, they provide no greater certainty, nor is there any verified evidence that deities per se have improved humanity or its institutions."

You will need to reply with the Title of the novel, and the book the quote came from.

Have fun with this one... and oh, it was so hard to choose just one....

Ahhh, the agony! I know the answer, but I don't have time to look up a new quote, and so I must refrain.

The title of the novel and the book it came from? Aren't these the same thing?

The Parafaith War.

No, for example, the title of the novel would be The Death of Chaos, and the name of the book would be The Book of Ryba. Does that make sense?
(If you're like me you anticipate these little excerpts as much as the new characters in each new novel).

Your saving grace has been your willingness to undergo punishment for your mistakes. Accept yourself and keep that willingness, and it may be enough to protect us all
Just a guess at the cold quote, is this Cerryls patrol leader (cant remember his name) saying it to Cerryl just after he has killed the guy in the street - Either TWO or COC

Yes.

...and Kvetch, you answered your own quote in another thread.

I now understand what you meant by 'book.' I was being tarded.

I was half right though. :)

MK, could you please clarify what you meant by answering own post in another thread?

do you mean gil galad's post of the current quote (with references) in the 'purpose of religion' thread?

since Gil Galad obviously knows the quote is from the Parafaith War, the Ecotech Dialogues, I assume it is time for a new post.

will someone repost the extant cold quotes and the new one please - I have lost track now
