For my birthday in 1991 my wife gave me a (small) gift certificate to our local B&N and I purchased "The Magic of Recluce". I have since bought every thing that you have written. I want to thank you for the many, many hours of enjoyment , entertainment and enlightment.

I have just finished Wellspring of Chaos and I have to congratulate you. A very enjoyable story and I hope there will be a second volume of the adventures of Kharl, much like Cerryl. Lerris and Lorn. Could you get Tor to commission a new set of maps for Recluce? With the series spanning 1,800 years and the place names changing, things are a little confusing sometimes for this greybeard.

I am also very fond of Johan and Llysette and their world and I was wondering if you have any plans for a 4th volume.

Also, are there any plans for a return to the Ecolotians and the Empire ?

Thanks again for all the imagination and hard work, and for taking time to check these posts.

Longtime fan

Wellspring of Chaos et al.

First, there will be a second Recluce book about Kharl. That's Ordermaster, and it's scheduled to be out in hardcover in January 2005.

At this point, there are no plans for a fourth book about Johan and Llystette, although TOR is planning to reissue all three books in a single large trade paperback, probably sometime late in 2005 or in 2006 [since Of Tangible Ghosts is now out of print.

It's unlikely, but not impossible, that there will be another Ecolitan book, although I am working on another far-future SF adventure at present.

It's up to TOR on whether any more Recluce maps are commissioned, but given their expense, I'd have to say that it's most unlikely.
