I found it through my school library. It looked cool so I started reading it! It's a really good book so far, even if I'm only on the first book!

I found the book while I was looking for an author of another series. I saw the cover and it gave me pause because wolves are one of my favorite animals. So I picked it up and read the cover and thought well why not when I found out that the book I was looking for wouldn't be in until the summer. Now it is one of my favorite series.[/quote]

I found the first two books sitting next to each other up in a village book store. The titles grabbed my attention, and so did the descriptions on the back cover, so I got it.

I just entered this poll by selecting "friend" or "family" — I found the Firekeeper series here in the Forum, and I consider those of you who were discussing the books to be my friends.

I borrowed the first one from the library at the beginning of the year and when I opened it to read it I read the first page as was like "nah" and then returned it. But then last month I decided out of nowhere to get it again and I was up the whole night reading the first one...I think it was like four or something by the time I finally made myself go to bed...I wasn't ready to stop reading but I knew I would be dead in the morning. Then I read the other ones...it was so annoying though for some reason my library doesn't carry the third one, Dragon of Despair, so I was freaking out (why? by the way do libraries always get books so out of order? They always only have like 2,3,and 5 or something...or in my case 1,2,4?) thinking I would just have to buy it but then found it on the internet to borrow. I am almost finished the fourth one and I am getting really depressed cause I don't want to be done and have to wait all the way until March to read more! I love these books! I think probably the first one will always be my favorite but all the other ones closely follow.

Here's the way I found the Firekeeper series!~

Post by Sorceress~Sakura~Divina »

The way I found the Firekeeper series is by meer luck, or fate. There was this sale, and my mom told me to pick a book, so I chose the first book with 'wolf' in the title. I read Wolf Captured, loved it, and found out about the other three and the two others still being written, or to be released. I just finished Through Wolf's Eyes tonight, and have started Wolf's Head, Wolf's Heart. I wish I could be Firekeeper, but I also see the disadvantages in being her. Oh, I really I could be her though. I got this book called The art of being a Wolf for Christmas, and it's a great book I reccomend for wolf lovers. I really envy Firekeeper too, she can speak to animals, and has a mutual feeling of love with Blind Seer. *sigh* Oh well, the Firekeeper saga is a great saga that I'll enjoy forever!~

After such ebullience about the books on this, I went out and found them. So, I found the books right here in this thread.

I found the books because my parents grounded me for a month and a half. The only thing i could do was read really. So I started heading over to my local Borders store to pick up some new books every 4 or 5 days. About a month after I was first grounded I happened to see the 1st, 2nd, and 4th books on the shelf , I snatched all three off the shelf like the greedy bastard I am, thinking I had the 1st 2nd and "3rd" books on the series. Finished the first and second in one week, picked up the "3rd" and found it to be the 4th. I then waited the next month to get the third on inter library loan, all the while starring at the cover of the fourth thinking about all the literary ambrosia contained inside and not being able to read it. (I get really, really anal about reading good books in order, I HATE spoilers.)

I was browsing through a Borders when I found the first of the series on the shelves. Given that it had a wolf on the cover, I immediately decided to buy it... and since that day I've been an avid follower of the Firekeeper series. I picked up the next three books at the very same Borders, and I'm currently devouring "The Dragon of Despair".

I was looking through the fantasy section at the library and I saw Blind Seer's face on the binding of Wolf Captured. I love wolves, so I picked it up, but I thought, "Oh this is probably just another book that has absolutely nothing to do with actual wolves", but I looked it over and saw that it does, so I checked it out. I had no idea I was starting so late in the series, lol. I started researching online and found out it was a series, so I went to Waldenbooks and bought the only 2 they had, the 1st and 2nd ones, and I will have to have them order the rest. I loved the one from the library and now I am reading the 1st one.

My dad had the first book, I don't know where he got it... I looked on his dresser one day, and sitting here was a wolf! I snatched it... and then he came looking for his book... Dad was good enough to let me read it after him, then we got the next one, but the dragon book wasn't out yet.(this was a while back) One day, wonder of wonders, it arrives in the mail, out of no where! See my mom own(ed) a small bookstore and they sent it to us in gallery format. Yay! Well, I'm working on Wolf Hunting now, and my dad is buying the next one...

Sorry, I just had to tell my little story :)

Well I figure this is a good place to start posting since I just found out about the website today when I picked up a copy of Wolf Hunting.

I was wandering my favorite section of the bookstore I live closest to when I saw two books with the word "Wolf" in the title. Since wolves are my favorite animals I had to check out the books. I loved the discription so I bought both of them. When I picked up the third I didn't think there was going to be another one especially since there was no mention in Dragon of Dispair of a 4th book. I picked up the fourth book when I found it in paperback. I was a little disappointed to see a fifth book appear on the shelf next to the series but I finally decided to see if the fifth book held any clues to my favorite character (Derian). Now I'm 22 pages in and very pleased with how she started the story but I'm still wondering if Deraian is going to surface. It all depends on how this book ends if I'll pick up the 6th book when it comes out in paperback.

Library...

Post by Nathan2006 »

I found it in the library, and it caught my eye. I saw that Charles DeLint had given it a good review, so I checked the first one out. I loved it. I thought it was a trilogy (A strange on at that), at first. But then I saw the fourth book in a bookstore. A year later, after reading some of her stand alone works, after eyeing 'Wolf, Captured' in various bookstores, I bought Wolf Captured. I was surprised. It stood alone, as did the other three in the 'trilogy'. I just now (Today) Bought the last two. I'm so psyched.

I found this series as I was browsing through a second hand book store. I had just paid and was about to leave, but my mother was taking a long time chatting with the sales lady, so I kept looking through the shelves. I found Wolf's Head, Wolf's Heart under a stack of a million other Sci-Fi books. I immediately fell in love with the cover (I am in LOVE with wolves), read the back, and just had to have it. I bought it, discovered it was #2, bought the first, bought the second again because the second hand copy was horrible, and have been buying the entire series since. But you should seriously see the books when I have finished with them. They are ALMOST as bad a second hand copy, lol. I've read them so many times, lugged them around in a cramped backpack to school and on trips, and simply unconsciously abused them in so many ways. I love Jane Lindskold!! She is the greatest author!! (Although I do wish her books had better binding) :metal:
