volleyball 2011 commentary

Post by rpschmitz »

Hey clong, I didn't notice until I was finished posting tonight that you changed the story from third-person to first person. I went along without thinking about it until I read through the previous posts.

Why not.

This is fun!

I think that it is part of the essence of volleyball that any given post may head off in a new direction.

I am flexible, and very much appreciate someone to volley with, and hope we can recruit another player or two!

I agree.

I don't mind the switch of viewpoint. I was just surprised that I didn't notice it until after I had written my post.

Any changes of direction are fine to me: new characters, viewpoints, persons, tenses...whatever. I'm just having fun.

As long as we don't have to write in a specific genre...I'm cool with it.

I realize it should have been the cat brushing up against first-person-Tom's leg...but I was talking with one of the prep-cooks at work...

He told me about a movie called HUMAN CENTIPEDE and I just couldn't help myself... And from what I have heard--I wouldn't suggest anyone go see the movie...

One of the beauties of VB is that foreshadowing efforts rarely turn out the way you intended

I know. That's why I like it. I don't make any plans or develope narrative ideas. I just make it up on the spot, based upon what you (or hopefully someone else) posted. It's fun!

I sort of got out of story writing for a couple years--went to culinary school and all that. But I find that I just can't give it up--even if I never get published or manage to finish any story that I start: I still love it...can't help myself.

I just realized I should have started a Volleyball 2011 thread instead of just posting in the Who's up for VB 2011 thread. Could someone (clong or Ghost) separate the VB posts into a separate thread?

And, clong, if no one else joins in, I'd be quite happy to just keep trading VB posts with you. If I could do one VB post a day--I'd be happy. More would be even better...but I'll take what I can get.

Thanks to whoever split the thread: I think it was you, clong, because I can see you're online and browsing.

Thanks!

Maybe that will help others comprehend that a new Volleyball has truly begun.

Give me a moment on my next post...

I actually laughed for two minutes after reading that VB post. (I'm still chuckling a bit.)

Sorry, that last VB post wasn't my best effort. I wrote a better version...but when I went to post it: it disappeared and I was kicked off the internet. Don't know what happened with that...

Anyway, I had a long, long day at work yesterday, and then dinner with my parents... So, by the time I wrote my post I was rather tired and not thinking as clearly as I would have wished.

But it's VB and I'm eager to continue with the game: however, we have a bunch of parties on Friday and Saturday...and Sunday our family's having Grandpa's 86th B-day party.

I'll try to VB before Sunday (if ANYONE VB's back)...but I don't know....

Thanks, Ryan. I thought it was fine :thumb: ...and I appreciate your quick response. I hope that I didn't offend anyone in my over the top choice of adjectives for the two new professors.

I'll try to get another post in by Saturday morning at the latest.

How's your symphony doing? (Know its off topic, but I checked out your website, and I find in fascinating that you're in charge of a symphony company--awesome! :thumb:)

I'm more into AC/DC and Metallica...and other stuff similar to that...but classical music is AWESOME! Bach, Mozart, Hayden, and etc. Also love Glen Miller... 8)

The symphony has its challenges, although we're doing better than many.

And I posted earlier that I make-up my VB posts on the spot (which is true), but after you're next post...I've been thinking...

...I'll continue with the same battle plan.

Planning ahead is just so tedious.

Margarat agreed: it was all so tedious to follow the rules and regulations. She took off her bikini top as she walked out onto the topless beach. She almost shivered as the sun warmed her upper body.

As she neared the shore, waves crashing before her, she noticed a cute guy laying on a green beach blanket.

"Hey," she shouted, "that's mine!"

He just looked at her like she was totally insane!!!
