Metallica - One

I Can't Remember Anything
Can't Tell If this Is True or Dream
Deep down Inside I Feel to Scream
this Terrible Silence Stops Me
Now That the War Is Through with Me
I'm Waking up I Can Not See
That There Is Not Much Left of Me
Nothing Is Real but Pain Now

Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death
Oh Please God, wake Me

Back in the Womb its Much Too Real
in Pumps Life That I must Feel
but Can't Look Forward to Reveal
Look to the Time When I'll Live
Fed Through the Tube That Sticks in Me
Just like a Wartime Novelty
Tied to Machines That Make Me Be
Cut this Life off from Me

Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death
Oh Please God, wake Me

Now the World Is Gone I'm Just One
Oh God,help Me Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death
Oh Please God Help Me

Darkness

Imprisoning Me
All That I See
Absolute Horror
I Cannot Live
I Cannot Die
Trapped in Myself
Body My Holding Cell

Landmine

Has Taken My Sight
Taken My Speech
Taken My Hearing
Taken My Arms
Taken My Legs
Taken My Soul
Left Me with Life in Hell!
In my opinion, this is the best Metallica song. I can listen to this song over and over and over again.

Also, the video of this song must be watched! From start to finish. It is a very very VERY good music video. Completely different to all those other hair-metal videos of that time, very emotion. It is an excellent piece of cinematography. (sp?)

Go down till you see "One (1991)" NOT the performance version, The original. Even if you don't like metal I STRONGLY recommend you watch this video. :)

Very emotional. You must see!

Richard Christy quit Iced Earth mid-tour shortly after I saw them in St Louis to begin a career in standup comedy (no kidding).

The bass player on Iced Earth's Horror Show CD is the founder of Death, Steve DiGeorgio.

He's a prick, but a stellar bass player.

I listened to that song by Everygrey last night, it was awesome! Is the rest of theirs like that?

Crimson Moonlight - Thy Wilderness

As I wonder through the frozen
Landscape of Scandinavia
I am surrounded by
The magnificent creation
Thy nature truly a testimony
Of Thy eternal might
Like a wall, ancient mountains
Rise beyond the endless forests
As a mirror, the cold lakes
Reflect their shadows
Star of the Nordic skies glimpse
In harmony with the heavenly
Symphony of colours
The majestic northern lights

I praise Thee, o Master
For the gift of nature
I praise Thee
For the landscape of Scandinavia
Thou spread snow like wool
And scatter frost like ashes
Thou hurls down Thy hail like morsels
Who can withstand Thy icy blast?
Thou send Thy word and melt them
Thou stir the breeze
And let the water flow

Ancient beasts of the north
Made by Thy hands
In the depths of the Swedish
Wastelands they live
Elks and bears
Kings of the wood
Who would not fear their creator?
Thou have shown me
The beauty of lynx and fox
Their cunning conceived
By Thy wisdom in days of old
I have heard the wolves
Lift their howls of praise heavenwards
While ravens and eagles sour
In the midst of the sky
Proclaiming that the hour has come

For the day of the Lord is near
Soon it is upon us
Verily, I have seen Thy sign
The crimson moonlight

Very cool! I am loving this band. I doubt many of you will though. ;-) Check them out anyway.

Higher Kind of Life

It's such a damn disgrace
To see the human race
Fall to pieces right in front of me
There's got to be a way
I heard somebody say
But you must kneel to my philosophy

Looks like a higher kind of life
What I need
Looks like a higher kind of life
Oh help me, I don't want to be wrong
Someone told me, someone said
Looks like a higher kind of life
But I won't do it, do it, do it again

Now I'm looking a the sun
And I'm not the only one
Blinded by new found authority
He speaks to me the word
In a way I never heard
I'm the product of his personality

Looks like a higher kind of life
What I need
Looks like a higher kind of life
Oh help me, I don't want to be wrong
Someone told me, someone said
Looks like a higher kind of life
But I won't do it, do it, do it again

Round and round and round we go
Welcome to the one man show...

Looks like a higher kind of life
What I need
Looks like a higher kind of life
Oh help me, I don't want to be wrong
Someone told me, someone said
Looks like a higher kind of life
But I won't
No I won't
No I won't
Do it again

hehe, you'll think I'm lying, but the band's name is actually Pink Cream 69. The are a great hard rock band from Germany (not metal) but I think their name just may be the worst band name ever.

Their music is very good as are their lyrics. You'd never expect their name to be so ridiculous.

Yeah, I personally think Endangered is just too forced and commercial. I wouldn't lose any sleep over not hearing that one.

Electrified is definitely kick ass though.

Rachel Bolan writes some great lyrics. I'm not so sure they have a rhythm on their own though because he tries to cram so many into each line.

I know their rhythm because I know the song, but if you haven't heard the song, maybe the lyrical rhythm isn't apparent.

... great imagery and allegory though ...

I had a really hard time deciding which song from this CD to post the lyrics of; they are all so good.

Skid Row

Monkey Business

Outside my window there's a
Whole lot of trouble comin'
The cartoon killers and the
Rag cover clones
Stack heels kickin' rhythm
Of social circumcision
Can't close the closet on
Shoe box full of bones

Kangaroo lady with her bourbon in a pouch
Can't afford the rental on a bamboo couch
Collecting back her favors 'cause her well is running dry
I know her act is terminal, but she ain't gonna die.

Slim Intoxicado drinkin' dime store hooch
Is always in a circle with his part-time pooch
And Little Creepy's playing dollies in the New York rain
Thinkin' Bowie's just a knife ...

Ooh the pain!

I ain't seen the sun since I don't know when
The freaks come out at nine and it's twenty to ten
What's this funk that you call junk?
To me it's just monkey business

Get Back!!

Blind man in a box that will probably die
The village kids laugh as they walk by
A psycho is on the edge of this human garbage dump
And the vultures in the sewers are telling him to jump ...

... into the fire from the frying pan
Tripping on his tongue for a cool place to stand
Where's this shade that you've got it made?
To me it's just monkey business

Monkey business
Slippin' on the track
Monkey business
Jungle in black
Ain't your business if I got
No monkey on my back

Monkey business
Slippin' on the track
Monkey business
Jungle in black
Ain't your business
If I got no
Monkeys on my back

The vaseline gypsies and silicone souls
Dressed to the society
Hypocrite heartbeat and cheap alibis
Can't get you by that monkey

This song just totally gets to me. I love it in a self-pitying sort of way. I don't like anything else this guy has done, but I this one is special. This band is called Stone Sour and the singer and guitar player are from Slipknot. I can't stand Slipknot.

BOTHER

Wish I was too dead to cry
My self-affliction fades
Stones to throw at my creator
Masochists to which I cater

You don't need to bother;
I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on,
I won't let go 'til it bleeds

Wish I was too dead to care
If indeed I cared at all
Never had a voice to protest
So you fed me sh*t to digest
I wish I had a reason;
my flaws are open season
For this, I gave up trying
One good turn deserves my dying

You don't need to bother;
I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on,
I won't let go 'til it bleeds

(Solo: Corey)

Wish I'd died instead of lived
A zombie hides my face
Shell forgotten
with its memories
Diaries left
with cryptic entries

And you don't need to bother;
I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on,
I won't let go 'til it bleeds

You don't need to bother;
I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on…
I'll never live down my deceit

Slipknot have some good music, but they have some really really crap music in the same song plus shite, repeative lyrics which suck.

e.g.

Gonna snap, Gonna snap, Gonna snap, Gonna snap, Gonna snap, Gonna snap... ad infinitum.
