EDIT: My apologies to Ghost - I blew it big time with this one. Shot my mouth off before checking the data. As penance, I'm writing "Rate X Time = Distance" one hundred times per day for the next 136 years.

Your PPD is 7.87. Mine is 11.24. If it takes me 930 days to pass Brad, it certainly won't take you 136 years.

Ghost's math was essentially correct.

Recalculating for today's data:

NorseRaider's overtake = (3908-945) div by (7.98-7.80) = 16,461 days
Laurie's overtake = (3908-712) div by (11.42-7.80) = 833 days
Cho's overtake = (3908-634) div by (31.84-7.80) = 136 days

Ahem ... so, uh, Laurie ... would you like to try out the fit on the ol Dunce Cap ?

Let's recalculate mine again real quick
The original was 16,461 days, that would equal about 46.07 years.
My overtake= (3940-1042) div by (8.75-7.85)=3220 days= about 8.82 years, and that's only if I stop improving, I'm catchin up Brad, I dropped 37 years in less than 16 hours. I'm not even done for the day yet! Let's see how long this really takes

Yeah, and how many of those posts are made in fluff threads whose sole existance seems to be to pad one's post count without requiring any effort or content ?

OK, I'll shut up about that. I just didn't like the fact that it would take me 136 years to catch up to you, then 46 years and so on. I'll be happy if I can just get within 3 years in the next 3 months.

Sorry, I didn't mean to hit on that so hard.

You have to understand - for the longest time, I was the whipping boy of this forum for being a post whore ... in fact, if you scroll back to the beginning of this thread you'll see it.

And now, all of a sudden, I have not one, not two, but THREE people above me in the PPD standings that I can abuse for a change.

Oh sweet release for me to abuse others for the same thing that others used to abuse me for

It's VERY therapeutic and cathartic.

Yeah, I understand, it's alright. Oh, I know you don't agree with me on this, but things in the Margins aren't absent-minded fluff, just because they provide some enjoyment that's not related to books. Some of it is just to socialize when we've ran out of book related things to talk about. We still post in the other forums when we have something to say that' relevant to them, but this is just to enjoy ourselves in our free time on the IBDoF. Sorry if that was a little much, and I'm so bad with words.

Oh, I know it well - better than most, because I was something like the 25th person to join the IBDoF, and I was the first person to create 'perpetual' threads ... some of them still in existence.

When I first came there, the place was a dead as a doornail, with, on average, one post every few days. Kilty dragged me in here to help him kick it to life.

My first post ... sniff ... (sings) memories ...

Well you certainly did a pretty good job of it

I really enjoyed myself when I first ventured out of the Modesitt thread( that was about a month or two before the Margins were created). Good job on the site. (Now if only you could persuade jweb to do the same, that guys just too uptight [most of the time].)
