One quote of this character :
“That, too. But you would not believe all the forms that have to be filled out, afterward.”
Bonus #1 : what is "That" ?

A second one
"Mister, I don't want to stop you!"
Bonus #2 : To whom is this told ?

Each bonus is for 1/2 :sherlock:

This is not technically a quote from YYY, the character you have to guess. Here YYY is the POW character and YYY's reminiscences are in roman font, without quotes around them. Not essentially different from quoting a thought, just different typography. And use of "him" instead of "me". The part of the reminiscences that is a quote from the character XXX is in italics.
The first set of three dots is actually in the text. The second one, in parentheses, means that I have shortened the sentence in the text.
XXX had dismissed him from the scene with no more than an exasperated, YYY . . . get a zzz, (…).
Bonus #3 : YYY's reminiscence is slightly incorrect. Whether LMB did it on purpose, for theatrical effect, or just misquoted herself by memory, without double-checking, is not clear. Anyway, for 1/2 point, give the exact quote from XXX (and mention what book it is in).

Do you mean the Prisoner Of War character
or the Point of View character? (small typo, big difference)

I did say that the text in roman font without quotes was almost the same thing as a thought.

This is not technically a quote from YYY, the character you have to guess. Here YYY is the POV character and YYY's reminiscences are in roman font, without quotes around them. Not essentially different from quoting a thought, just different typography. And use of "him" instead of "me". The part of the reminiscences that is a quote from the character XXX is in italics.

Fourth one :
"No, XXX!" YYY looked faintly indignant. "Because he's a real veteran."
XXX and YYY are the same as in the previous case. Not only that, but the term used to represent the character XXX is exactly the same.

Bonus #4 : Give both XXX (exact term used in both cases) and "he" in the fourth quote.

Each bonus is for 1/2 :sherlock:

This is Armsman Roic.
Bonus 1: "That" is a license to kill.
Bonus 2: Roic is speaking to Gustioz, the Escobaran bounty hunter
Bonus 3: Armsman Roic ... Go get a bath
Bonus 4: XXX = m'lord, and "he" is Armsman Jankowski

X wrinkled his nose is doubt. “I’ve heard Y are both in one body.”

It's said by Arkady. NOT the Russian in NCIS Los Angeles, but the Arkady in "Horizon".

Sounds like Learned Hallana. But I misplaced my copy of _HH_ so I cannot check.

Who are the friends I don't remember, but I assume they are new friends of Ingrey.

XXX I can only guess. I would have said "a sorceress", but there is just one word, so "sorceresses" ?

Nope! I'll give something a bit clearer in my next quote!
XXX is not just a word, it's a descriptive phrase.

XXX is not just a word, it's a descriptive phrase.
Then you should write it : XXX YYY ZZZ ....
with the same number of words. Even if one of the words is a single letter like "I" or "a", use 3 letters, please. So one has a chance to guess it...

an odd half-hint: I do not offer a bonus regarding "one part" because I'm not sure what the rules are for words allowed on this forum.
