"You make me," xxx stated, "feel quite ill."
xxx is just a pronoun, but I erased it to hide the gender.

So :
Book?
what character does xxx represent?
context?

Ooh, I think I remember this one! It's... too early for me to answer. :(

Maybe next week.

Hint:
xxx is "she"

one essentiel part of the context is who is "you" but you have to give a bit more...

You make me," she stated, "feel quite ill."
Second hint (the first was the genrder of the speaker)
Both the speaker and the person spoken to ('"you") appear in more than one book, but the latter much more often than the former.

Book?
"she"?
"you"?
and a bit more context.

Suzette, yo uare welcome to answer, now. The ping-pong limit is long expired...

I was thinking Helena said it to Mark after she had found, partially watched and then destroyed the vid recordings of Mark's stay in Ryoval's torture labs.

This is the wrong answer but it's the only one I can think of. Sorry.

My original guess was Ekaterin to Foscol about their "bloodless" revolution plans, but it's not there (and Foscol doesn't appear in more than one book). I think it might be Ekaterin to Miles in A Civil Campaign, but my copy of ACC is currently missing (again!), so my best guess would regarding some of his speculation on how the rumor mill will distort the dinner party. I think he follows it up with some apology about how ImpSec training amplifies paranoia.

If not, someone else is free to guess. :)

Sorry but all the answers above are wrong.
As a hint,, but you knew it already, it is indeed in the Vorkosigan Saga.

Slightly longer quote:
She was shaken, and shaking. "You make me," she stated, "feel quite ill."
What comes before would be a dead giveaway.
And what comes after.... well, this line is not technically the end of a chapter, but the two protagonists separate and an entirely new dialogue begins, a third character interacting with "you" while "she" leaves. Oh, well the next paragraph begins with
As she stalked away, Yyy Zzz emerged...
But now you have to tell in addition who is Yyy (first name) Zzz (last name)

I'm still thinking of Mark. But now of the end of the scene with the buxom blonde clone aboard the Ariel when fleeing Jackson's Hole (in Mirror Dance).
Elli Quinn said the quote and stalked away while Helena Bothari emerged from the cabin's doorway.

It fits, doesn't it? Doesn't it?

OK, one more hint
"you" ad "Yyy Zzz" share some genes.

And "she" does not, with either of them

That last is impossible. All humans share some genes. Even the Cetagandan hauts do share most of the common human genome.

Ah ha! I think I've got it now.

Warrior's Apprentice
It's Elena talking to Miles after Miles suggests that Elena should marry him and that she could be his Bothari, and that they carry him with them, and something about Bothari being their compass. The one entering is Ivan Vorpatril.

I never did quite get what Miles was getting at there.Using Bothari as a compass (moral or otherwise) didn't sound like an especially good idea, considering that he was mentally ill. I think Elena would have wanted to use Bothari as a compass on where not to go.

Yes, this is the passge.
One sherlock and the next quote.

But as to the point, Miles does not disagree with you:
"Whether you travel toward or away, he'll be the compass. He'll be the glass, full of subtle colors and astigmatisms, through which all new things will be viewed. I too have a father who haunts me, and I know.'

toward or away : even as a compass not to follow

glass full of astigmatisms : Miles reallzes Bothari was mad

Having "The Butcher of Komarr" for a father is not so easy either...

This is indeed in what Miels says and nevertheless, Bothari's legacy must be lived with, rejected maybe, but not ignored

Who is speaking?
What happened?

A little longer then:
"What was that, a while ago?" Xxx demanded. "What happened to you?"
"What did you- did you yyy something, too?"
Which book?
Who is Xxx?
Who else is speaking?
What happened?

Yyy is a verb that would make it too easy. I'm not sure the wording itself doesn't give it away, but yyy definitely made it too easy.

I'm sure the verb is sense and I think the book is Horizon.

Nope, actually, it's neither Horizon nor sense, though that's a really good guess!

Which book? The Hallowed Hunt
Who is Xxx? Ijada
Who else is speaking? Ingrey
What happened? Ijada and Ingrey both had a vision during Prince Boleso's funeral.

Now the verb escapes me, but you didn't ask for that, did you?.

Everything but the "what happened" is correct. It was, however, not the vision from Boleso's funeral.

The verb, for what it's worth, is "see". I'll call that good, and post your sherlock if you can tell me what happened (very similar to the vision from Boleso's funeral, but not that particular vision). You can post the next quote now, if you like.

"Yay" and "aw" and Image.
But I found the last quiz element.
What happened "a while ago" was that Wencel telepathically induced Ingrey to see terrible visions, which simultaneously appeared to Ijada too.

It's remarkable that Lois had her characters mentally share visions without ever mentioning the word telepathy. But I guess that would be too much like Science Fiction?

A new quote, graciously encouraged by Spetty.

Please keep in mind that this is *NOT* a literal quote.
XXX recklessly argued with Him.
YYY made a scolding remark about it.
Who is XXX?
Who is YYY?
Where did the "scolding remark" scene happen?

bonus question for 1/2 Sherlock:
How did Abbot Monreale address Him?

You do not necessarily have to answer exactly what I have in mind. A different but nevertheless valid solution will earn you points as well.

The bonus question is deliberately misleading to a different universe.
It has nothing to do with the main questions.
