If I plan a vacation for next week, but then decide not to go on the vacation, isn't that a little like undoing the future?

But if you change your mind again, and decide to fly to your destination, but then the pilots decide to go on strike on your departure day, and later cancel the strike, and you hear about the cancellation just in time to jump in a taxi for the airport, but the taxi is blocked in a traffic jam, so you'll get to the airport too late, and then the jam suddenly eases up so you do get there in time, but slip on a banana skin and hurt your ankle just short of the airline counter, and then manage to walk there nevertheless, how many times has the future been done and undone?
