Fortunately, I won't bother whapping you for the misspelling of 'unfortunatelys'
Yeah, I know I can't spell, so I generally don't ever whap for spelling. But that was a grammar related mistake... and I love grammar (Really. I out grammared my teacher. And a dictionary once too [misuse of an apostrophy]*), so that was more my forte. But really, it's like... a 'fortunately' is one thing, right.. Like a proper noun.
Umm, I'll find an example...
If you were on about the plural of a little newborn baby, you'd use the word 'babies' and change the ending. But, say if you were talking about a gaggle of people called 'Baby', you wouldn't change the name, just add an s. It's the same with fortunately, as it is more of a proper noun... thing. I dunno, hard to describe. It's easier in my head when the voices can help me out...
