She attended Denver University Law School as an older returning student and has represented poor and minority clients in Criminal and Family matters for the past two decades. She has two daughters, Rachel and Sara. Sandra lives in Nederland, Colorado with her second husband Ed Sanchez, where she continues to practice law, and writes stories and novels when she is not hiking the mountains.
